What's On in the area?
Well, the opera has been and gone- but we had Goran Bregovic play a concert here that was very well received by the audience- it was one of the loudest things we have heard here- very clear. Different music to what I'm used to and I'm sure it would have been better had we seen it as well as heard it!
There was supposed to be a beach clean up taking place last weekend in the harbour area- but nothing seemed to have come of that- which isn't surprising as no advertising was seen for it! It seems as though people here don't care about the environment (no recycling facilities etc) and don't care enough to help keep it clean! We see the cleaner here in the harbour every morning in the week and I feel so sorry with the amount of rubbish he has to collect sometimes. Use the Rubbish Bins!
There is Aker Bilk and Kenny Ball playing Friday 21st September in Coral Bay which should be good- if you're going have a good night!
Open Studios!
Every weekend in October, artists from the Limassol and Paphos area will be opening their studios for you to view their work, buy it and even maybe commission a piece! Some 90 or so artists are taking part from 14 different countries for this the second year of the event. Please see the website Open Studios Cyprus for more information.
